3 Time Saving, Free Social Media Tools

One of the biggest complaints we receive about social media is that it takes too much time.  TOTAL Business Coach has your solution with three simple, free social media tools.  Utilizing each of the tools, we are able to monitor our social media presence, find conversations to join and schedule our posts and updates, all in about 15 minutes a day.

The first tool to utilize is NutShell Mail.  With this tool, you are able to receive all your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Yelp comments and updates through a single email.  You are able to specify what information you would like to receive from each social media outlet, and you can schedule to receive the emails as often as you like.  We use this tool to receive an email first thing in the morning so we are aware of everything that is happening with TOTAL Business Coach in the social media realm.  And it’s free!  For more information on NutShell Mail, visit their website at www.nutshellmail.com.

The next tool is TweetDeck, which is a personal browser for staying in touch with what is happening right now on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and Foursquare.  You can setup TweetDeck to monitor conversations about topics that you are interested in.  For example, if you are a roofing company, you can use TweetDeck to see anyone who is mentioning the term “roofing,” “roof” or “roof repair” across the various social media platforms.  You can then join in on the conversation directly from TweetDeck, displaying your expertise on the subject, and hopefully gain some new followers.  TweetDeck has a desktop, smartphone and Google Chrome application.  And it’s free!  For more information on TweetDeck, visit their website at www.tweetdeck.com.

The last tool is HootSuite.  With HootSuite you can accomplish some of the same tasks as with TweetDeck, but you can also schedule future messages to be posted on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Foursquare.  For example, suppose you own a boutique clothing store that is going to be having a huge sale in a couple weeks.  Instead of going to all the different social media websites everyday to promote the sale, you can simply spend 15 minutes one day on HootSuite and schedule your entire social media campaign for the sale from one place.  Just keep in mind that each social media site has its own unique formatting.  And HootSuite is free!  For more information on HootSuite, visit their website at www.hootsuite.com.

These are our three favorite social media tools.  Please let us know if you have any that we may have missed.

  1. While setting up social media can take some time, the pay off is worth it. You need to adjust your business strategy to go where everyone is, and that is social media. After you are setup, like mentioned above, you can link your site or business to millions within a button press.
